Two Harbors, MN – Gary Putney
Presque Isle and the Philip R. Clarke both loaded in Two Harbors for Gary.
Thunder Bay, ON – Joshua Hebeisen
After taking on partial loads at Viterra elevators A and B, Harvest Spirit departed at 00:13 for Windsor, ON, as easy as ABC. Taïga Desgagnés was next outbound 12 hours later at 12:21 after unloading wind turbine components at Keefer Terminal. The blue saltie is currently bound for the head of the lakes at Duluth, MN, where she figures to make a stop at the port terminal; she may have more cargo to offload below deck. Evans Spirit was the day’s last traffic with a 12:22 arrival for Richardson Main.
Federal Beaufort remains loading at P&H while Elbeborg and Resko continue their stints at anchor.
Manistee, MI – Chris Franckowiak
Manitowoc was downbound in northern Lake Michigan on Wednesday afternoon and due to arrive Manistee at 21:45. She will discharge coal from Toledo, OH at the TES – Filer City dock and should depart Thursday around 08:00.
Saginaw River, MI – Todd Shorkey
Algoma Innovator was inbound on the Saginaw River on June 12, headed for the Wirt Sand and Stone Fertilizer Terminal in Essexville.
Goderich, ON – Bruce Douglas
Algoma Innovator cleared at 14:04 Wednesday upbound for Essexville, Michigan, with salt. Algoma Niagara is expected next for salt, making her third appearance here this season.
Lake Erie Ports – Bill Kloss
Toledo, OH: Algoma Transport is at CSX and Clyde S. VanEnkevort/Erie Trader arrived and unloaded at Ironville.
Marblehead, OH: American Courage tied up at Holcim to load stone.
Sandusky, OH: Michipicoten arrived to load at the Norfolk Southern coal dock. Once loaded she left for Algoma Steel at the Soo.
Cleveland, OH: When the tourists were all aboard and accounted for, Viking Polaris departed for Detroit. Spliethoff’s Aujac left for Duluth, leaving Flevoborg as the only ship still at the Port. Also leaving was American Courage, she headed to Marblehead. Arriving were Petite Forte/St. Marys Cement to unload at Holcim Cement and Federal Caribou, with steel coils for the Port. She’s at Dock 24W.
Fairport Harbor, OH: Calumet delivered her remaining stone cargo to Carmeuse then left for an unknown destination as her AIS hadn’t been updated at the time of her departure.
Ashtabula, OH: Calumet had a partial unload of stone and then departed for Fairport Harbor with the remaining cargo.
Buffalo, NY: American Mariner arrived to unload grain at General Mills. Eider is still unloading raw sugar.
Buffalo, NY – Brian Wroblewski
The American Mariner brought in wheat from Thunder Bay for the Frontier Elevator at 08:00 on the 13th, unassisted.
Port Colborne, ON – Wayne Elliott
The Manistee was rolled out of the water at MRC Port Colborne Wednesday. Some dismantling was done at the wharf until tugs were available, to stem in the harbor, to roll the ship out bow first. Demolition is expected to be completed by September.
