Buffalo, NY – Brian Wroblewski
June got off to a quick start with two ships arriving from the Welland Canal on the morning of the 1st. The NACC Capri came in around 7:30AM for the LaFarge terminal with the saltwater ship Qamtik right behind her by about an hour. The CAPRI met the tug Vermont at the North Entrance, winded in the Outer Harbor, and was towed up the Buffalo River stern first. The Qamtik checked down to time her arrival just right and when the Vermont was done helping the Capri, she came back out and headed for the South Entrance. No tow line was made up as the Vermont escorted the Qamtik in for Lackawanna. They used the tug to get through the piers and lined up for the Main Dock at Gateway Metroport. The Vermont helped them tie up at the dimensional cargo unloading apron near the North end of the wall and then headed back to Buffalo around 9:30AM. Qamtik then began unloading windmill blades that they had brought here from Pecem, Brazil. Karen Andrie – Endeavor was on the way for Tonawanda with an ETA of early morning on the 2nd.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
