Port reports are compiled from volunteer reader observations and AIS transmissions. Please send information about vessel arrivals and departures from your port to news@boatnerd.net by 9 p.m. (Eastern) nightly for them to be included in the next day’s news. Please include name of vessel, arrival time, day and dock it went to (if known). We welcome new reporters. If your port is not included, we would welcome your contributions. We are particularly looking for reporters for the St. Marys River, Southern Lake Michigan ports, Detroit, Toledo and the Hamilton/Toronto area.

Duluth-Superior – Scott Bjorklund
Duluth Entry: Great Republic departed at 04:39 (CST) Monday morning with iron ore pellets for Gary. American Mariner arrived at 16:13 Monday afternoon to unload limestone at CN-Hallett #5. As of Monday night, American Mariner was unloading at CN-Hallett #5 and Heerengracht was still unloading general cargo at Port Terminal. American Mariner is estimated to depart early Tuesday empty to load in Marquette. American Integrity is expected early morning to load coal at SMET. Lee A. Tregurtha is expected late morning to unload limestone at Graymont. Arthur M. Anderson is expected late evening to unload limestone at CN-Hallett #5.
Superior Entry: Burns Harbor departed at 22:39 (CST) Sunday night with iron ore pellets for her namesake port. As of Monday night, no vessels were in port on the Superior side. Algoma Guardian is expected late Tuesday morning to load at BNSF. Stewart J. Cort is expected late evening to also load at BNSF.

Two Harbors-Silver Bay – Gary A Putney
Walter J. McCarthy Jr. departed Two Harbors on 6/21 at 15:02. Arriving Two Harbors on 6/21 at 15:02 was the CSL Welland after being stopped SW of Two Harbors. James R. Barker is due Two Harbors but was stopped on the WI shore near Port Wing.

 Milwaukee, WI – MKE Marine Reports
Maria G was at Federal Marine Terminals Monday (06/21) unloading coils of steel from Turkey. GL Ostrander/Integrity arrived from Alpena at 15:27 with cement for the Lafarge terminal.

Parry Sound: Monday; 2:33 Cuyahoga arrived to unload road salt and departed at 10:51.
Meldrum Bay: Monday; 2:41 Joyce L VanEnkevort / Great Lakes Trader arrived to load limestone.
Bruce Mines: Monday; 13:51 Robert S Pierson went to anchor off of St Josephs Island to wait for more favorable winds at the dock.
Drummond Island: Monday; 6:41 Laura L Van Enkevort / Joseph H Thompson departed for Fairport.
Port Dolomite: Sunday; 23:34 Calumet departed for Cheboygan. Monday; 10:16 Kaye E Barker arrived to load limestone.
Calcite: Sunday; 23:53 Lee A Tregurtha departed for Duluth Superior. Monday; 17:26  Olive L Moore / Menominee departed for the Saginaw River.
Alpena: Sunday; 21:38 The cement carrier Alpena departed for Detroit. Monday; 14:03 John J Boland bound for Stoneport went to anchor. 19:30 Defiance / Ashtabula bound for Calcite went to anchor. Both vessels were waiting out the weather.

Goderich, ON – Bruce Douglas
Algoma Sault cleared 2.13 pm Monday downbound for Johnstown with salt. Algoma Compass arrived 2.57 pm Monday loading at Compass Minerals. Algoma Innovator expected next.

Lake Erie Ports for Monday – Bill Kloss
Monroe:  Undaunted/Pere Marquette 41 departed at 08:41.
Marblehead:  Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder arrived Sunday night and went to anchor to wait for the American Courage to finish loading.  The Courage departed at 08:33 for Fairport Harbor. Dorothy Ann moved to load at  08:54.
Cleveland:  H. Lee White arrived late Sunday night with stone for the bulk terminal. She left at 10:07 for Toledo. Algoma Buffalo departed at 16:46.
Fairport Harbor:  American Courage arrived at Osborne at 14:00.
Ashtabula:  Manitowoc arrived at 08:30, unloaded and left for Stoneport at 16:42. The tug Paul L. Luedtke arrived at 13:49.
Nanticoke:  Algoma Hansa departed for Tracy at 13:40 and Algonorth left for Sarnia at 15:21.

Buffalo, NY – Brian Wroblewski
NACC Capri arrived from Oswego at 9AM on the 21st with a split load of cement that originally came from Bath, ON. She was winded in the Outer Harbor with the help of the tug Vermont and towed up to LaFarge stern first. They were only here a relatively short time since this was only a partial cargo. The Capri was ready to by 7:15PM and the Vermont came back to take her out. The tug was made up on the stern to check her swing and they took them down as far as Michigan St. once through the draw, their line was released and the empty cement freighter headed back to Bath to take on another load.
