Please include name of vessel, arrival time, day and dock it went to (if known). We welcome new reporters. If your port is not included, we would welcome your contributions. We are particularly looking for reporters for the St. Marys River, Southern Lake Michigan ports, Detroit, Toledo and the Hamilton/Toronto area.
Duluth-Superior – Scott Bjorklund
Duluth Entry: Rt. Hon. Paul J. Martin departed at 21:02 (CST) Sunday night with iron ore pellets for Quebec City. American Integrity arrived at 23:05 to take Martin’s place at CN#6. Algoma Sault arrived at 06:42 Monday morning to unload salt at Envirotech-Hallett #8. Algoma Mariner departed at 09:01 with petroleum coke. Federal Dart arrived at 10:01 to load petroleum coke at SMET. American Integrity departed at 15:59 with iron ore pellets for Cleveland, OH. Algoma Sault departed at 16:48 empty. As of Monday night, there were no vessels on the Duluth side of the harbor. Dirk S. VanEnkevort is expected early Tuesday morning to load iron ore pellets at CN#6. James R. Barker is expected Tuesday morning to load coal at SMET. Federal Dart is estimated to depart early afternoon with petroleum coke. Drawsko is estimated to depart late afternoon with wheat.
Superior Entry: Algoma Discovery departed at 00:13 (CST) Monday morning with iron ore pellets for Hamilton. G3 Marquis arrived at 08:41 to load at BNSF. Michipicoten anchored off Superior around 12:30 waiting to load after the G3 Marquis. As of Monday night, G3 Marquis was still loading at BNSF, Federal Dart was loading petroleum coke at SMET, and Drawsko was loading wheat at CHS#1. G3 Marquis is estimated to depart Monday night with iron ore pellets. Michipicoten will take its place at the dock; Michipicoten should have a quick load and depart early Tuesday morning. Stewart J. Cort is expected late Monday night and will most likely anchor waiting to load after Michipicoten. Tim S. Dool will be next in line arriving off Superior early Tuesday afternoon.
Two Harbors-Silver Bay – Gary A Putney
Walter J. McCarthy Jr. arrived Two Harbors at 20:34 on 6/6. As of 18:15 on 6/7 she was still at the ore dock. Arriving off Two Harbors on 6/7 at 05:10 was the American Mariner. There is no inbound traffic scheduled for Two Harbors on 6/8. CSL Assiniboine departed Northshore Mining in Silver Bay on 6/7 at 07:58 for Quebec City. Due Silver Bay on 6/8 is the Mesabi Miner.
Thunder Bay, ON
Sunday; 20:59 Algoma Transport departed for Detroit. Monday; 6:50 The saltie Chesnut arrived at the Richardson Current River Terminal to load grain.
Northern Lake Michigan
Brevort: Monday; 6:14 John J Boland arrived to load processed sand.
Port Inland: Monday; 14:07 Joseph L Block departed for Duluth Superior.
Charlevoix: Monday; 8:11 Caroline McKee / Commander arrived to load cement products.
Green Bay, WI – MKE Marine Reports
On Monday the Tug Bradshaw McKee Barge St. Marys Conquest arrived from Manitowoc at 5:24 pm for the St. Marys Cement terminal. Next the Tug Albert Barge Margaret with petroleum products from Sarnia. ETA says 11:00 pm Monday night subject to change of time. Due Tuesday is the Arthur M. Anderson with coal from Chicago for the Fox River Dock Terminal.
Milwaukee, WI – Jon
Prentiss Brown/St. Marys Challenger arrived from Charlevoix at 13:26 Sunday (06/06) with cement for the Kinnickinnic River terminal. Baie Comeau arrived at 02:00 Monday with deicing salt from Morton, Windsor. She backed into south slip one, outer harbor, and dropped her cargo on the open dock. Polsteam’s Juno arrived from Burns Harbor at 06:01 with steel from IJmuiden, Netherlands. With an assist from tug North Dakota, she tied up at the Federal Marine Terminals dock opposite Baie Comeau in slip one. Baie Comeau departed just after 09:00.
Holland, MI – Bill Van Appledorn
Great Republic arrived at Verplank’s dock at 10:30 AM Monday to unload aggregate. It left at 3:45 PM bound for Calcite.

Little Current: Monday 8:28 Sharon M1 / Huron Spirit arrived.
Meldrum Bay: Sunday; 22:00 Laura L Van Enkevort / Joseph H Thompson departed for the Saginaw River. Monday; 17:36 Algoma Niagara arrived to load limestone.
Drummond Island: Monday; 2:41 Herbert C Jackson departed for the Saginaw River.
Cheboygan: Monday 8:07 The tug Michigan / tanker barge Great Lakes arrived at the US Oil Co terminal to unload and departed at 16:46 for Port Huron.
Calcite: Monday; 6:00 H Lee White departed for Detroit.
Stoneport: Sunday; 21:00 John Marshall / Lake Trader departed and are down bound on Lake Michigan. Monday; 3:40 Defiance / Ashtabula arrived to load limestone and departed at 15:07 down bound on Lake Huron.
Alpena: Monday; 5:37 Undaunted / Pere Marquette 41 arrived at the Lafarge plant to unload. 15:42 Samuel De Champlain / Innovation arrived to load cement products and departed at 19:36 for McGregor Bay.
Goderich, ON – Bruce Douglas
Algoma Intrepid cleared 4.56 am Monday downbound for Buffalo with salt. Algoma Compass expected next.
Saginaw River – Todd Shorkey
Laura L. VanEnkevort – Joseph H. Thompson called on the Saginaw River, Monday morning, headed up to Saginaw with a split cargo for the GM Stone Dock and Lafarge Stone Dock. Herbert C. Jackson was also inbound on Monday with a split cargo, unloading at the Wirt Stone Docks in Bay City and Saginaw.
Lake Erie Ports for Monday – Bill Kloss
Sandusky: Saginaw arrived at 08:47 to load at Norfolk Southern.
Cleveland: Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder departed for Detroit. American Courage is running shuttles. New York/Double Skin 509A arrived at Marathon at 09:53. Federal Yoshino
Ashtabula: Ocean Castle is at Pinney.
Conneaut: Edgar B. Speer left at 01:13 for Two Harbors. John G. Munson arrived at 03:56 to unload at the P&C dock. She left for Calcite at 16:36.
Nanticoke: Algoma Hansa is at Imperial Oil.
