St. Marys River – David Kaye
The Harvest Spirit finished loading steel coils today across the harbor in Sault Ste Marie, ON. They were then pulled away from the dock and turned down river by the PML tug Scott Purvis and are now headed for Detroit.

USCGC Katmai Bay arrived in the Soo at 13:45 after journeying up the river from Lime Island.

1st Boat into Green Bay. Algocanada docked Green Bay this winter Wednesday early evening.

Before Algocanada became Green Bay’s first official arrival of the 2022–2023 shipping season, USCGC Mackinaw departed the waters outside the harbor for Mackinaw City, MI. Smaller cutter USCGC Neah Bay also began the morning out in the bay but wouldn’t stray far, getting in a few icebreaking reps before going to anchor for the night.

Canadian Coast Guard newbie CCGS Judy LaMarsh departed at 14:31 for Amherstburg, ON.
Mackinaw City, MI – Joshua Hebeisen
Mighty Macs reunited! Mackinaw City had a case of déjà vu late Wednesday night with not one but two USCGC Mackinaw cutters docked on the eastern side of the harbor. Returning from icebreaking duties near Green Bay, WI, the younger WLBB-30 would arrive to dock just a couple hundred feet away from her retired counterpart WAGB-83. The two will be sharing some icy sea stories deep into the night.

After topping off at Suncor, Iver Bright cleared at 06:18 for Detroit, MI.

Iver Bright was back in bright red at 11:28, this time tying up at Mistersky.
Lake Erie Ports – Bill Kloss
Nanticoke, ON: Algonova departed with petroleum products for Sault Ste. Marie. Algosea weighed anchor and moved to the dock at Imperial Oil, joining Algotera there.
