USCG Katmai Bay was upbound in the lower river Wednesday evening headed to the Coast Guard base in the Soo. At midnight she was hove to near the Mud Lake junction light for the night. Algocanada was still at the Purvis Dock in the lower harbor, but local reports say she may depart downriver soon.

Straits of Mackinac:Tuesday; 19:19 USCG Katmai Bay stopped west of Algoma Intrepid. Wednesday; 7:16 USCG Katmai Bay resumed ice operations.13:30 USCG Mackinaw crossed the Straits of Mackinac into Lake Michigan and began escorting Algoma Intrepid for Milwaukee. 16:19 Algoma Sault for Goderich was underway to the Straits of Mackinac with USCG Katmai Bay providing escort.18:00 Algoma Intrepid cleared the fast ice and USCG Mackinaw changed course for the Straits of Mackinac.

Cheboygan: Wednesday; The tug Manitou departed for ice operations and escorted the tug Michigan and tanker barge Great Lakes to the US Oil Co.Terminal. 9:17 Manitou returned to her berth. 9:48 USCG Mackinaw departed for the Straits of Mackinac.
