Duluth, MN – Superior, WI – Joshua Hebeisen
The only traffic through the Twin Ports on Wednesday was the departure of Edwin H. Gott from Superior. After loading 60,000 tons of Hibtac pellets, the Gott cleared the piers for Nanticoke at 06:40. On the Duluth side of the harbor, the tug Lake Superior is being salvaged by Wren Works after partially sinking into the water this winter. USS Minneapolis-St. Paul remains at the Port Terminal.

Two Harbors, MN – Silver Bay, MN – Gary Putney
Walter J. McCarthy Jr. departed Two Harbors on Tuesday at 23:26 for the Gary Works. Arriving Two Harbors on Wednesday at 12:12 was Atlantic Huron. She is probably loading for Quebec City. There is no scheduled traffic for neither Two Harbors nor Silver Bay on Thursday.

Marquette, MI – Joshua Hebeisen
Clyde S. VanEnkevort/Erie Trader arrived at 14:16 and departed seven hours later. Their AIS track was turned off while in port, so it is unclear which dock they were at. Given that the pair are currently en route to load at Silver Bay, it is a reasonable guess that they were unloading limestone at the Shiras dock. 

St. Marys River – Roger LeLievre
The small passenger vessel Miss Marie was upbound Wednesday headed for a dock on the Canadian side. The former Miss Toronto will be used as a charter boat. Her ownership is listed as Sault Lock Tours Inc. Built in 1988 (rebuilt in 1996), she is 65 feet long.

Milwaukee, WI – MKE Marine Reports
G.L. Ostrander/Integrity arrived from Alpena at 19:17 Tuesday with cement for Lafarge and cleared for Calumet Harbor at 14:40 Wednesday. Prentiss Brown/St. Marys Challenger arrived from Charlevoix at 08:21 Wednesday with cement for the Kinnickinnic River terminal. As of Wednesday evening, Juno was still at Federal Marine Terminals while Federal Fraser remained at anchor outside the harbor.

Southern Lake Michigan Ports – Joshua Hebeisen
Calumet Harbor, IL: Undaunted/Pere Marquette 41 arrived the Calumet River at 17:58 for Middle River Marine. They were joined close to midnight by fellow tug/barge G.L. Ostrander/Integrity, who tied up at the Ozinga portion of the dock. Earlier in the evening, Exeborg departed Iroquois at 19:59 for Duluth-Superior.
Indiana Harbor, IN: Undaunted/Pere Marquette 41 arrived at 05:26 for the old Inland Steel site on the east side of the harbor. Mesabi Miner departed Dock 7H for Duluth at 06:13, and Wilfred Sykes was inbound shortly after to tie up across the slip from Undaunted/Pere Marquette 41 at the former Mittal West facility. The tug/barge combo departed at 17:32 for Calumet Harbor just up the lake.
Gary, IN: Edgar B. Speer arrived United States Steel Gary Works at 10:01 Tuesday morning to unload at the hopper. She was outbound for Two Harbors Wednesday at 01:38, and fellow Great Lakes Fleet footer Presque Isle arrived at 17:56 that evening to unload at the north end of the dock.
Burns Harbor, IN: After unloading limestone at Carmeuse Lime and Stone, Defiance/Ashtabula departed for Brevot at 06:04. Still at Federal Marine Terminals is Federal Columbia.

Detroit, MI – Windsor, ON – Joshua Hebeisen
Kaye E. Barker departed at 05:10 for Muskegon after servicing the south side of Zug Island. Everlast/Norman McLeod cast off from Mistesrky at 11:43 outbound for Sarnia following nearly 29 hours at the dock, and Sam Laud took the opportunity to fuel shortly thereafter. She got underway for the Soo at around 15:00. New York/Double Skin 509A departed from Marathon at 17:33 for Cleveland, and Radcliffe L. Latimer was inbound an hour later for Mistesrky. CSL Tadoussac rounded out the day’s traffic by sailing down the River Rouge outbound for Bowmanville at 22:43.

Lake Erie Ports – Bill Kloss
Toledo, OH: Departures were Hon. James L. Oberstar, Kaye E. Barker, Dirk S. VanEnkevort/Michigan Trader, and Saginaw. In port are Federal Bering, Lubie, Gardno, and Celina.
Kingsville, ON: Cuyahoga arrived at 04:24 and unloaded stone at Southwestern Sales. She departed for Marblehead at 08:14.
Marblehead, OH: Joyce L. VanEnkevort/Great Lakes Trader are loading stone at Lafarge. Cuyahoga arrived at 11:27 and went to anchor.
Sandusky, OH: Sam Laud departed at 06:14 with coal for Algoma Steel at the Soo.
Cleveland, OH: Laura L. VanEnkevort/Joseph H. Thompson arrived at 04:18, unloaded at RiverDock and departed for Meldrum Bay at 21:29. American Mariner arrived at the Bulk Terminal at 15:37 to unload pellets from the Tilden mine. Arriving at 18:22 was Algoma Buffalo to load salt at Cargill. Both Federal Beaufort and Federal St. Laurent remain berthed at the Port.
Fairport Harbor, OH: John J. Boland arrived at 08:08 to unload stone at Osborne. Finished with the offload, she departed at 17:30.
Nanticoke, ON: Baie Comeau arrived at Stelco at 03:19. She unloaded ore and departed at 18:16. CSL Niagara departed for Toledo at 10:06. Algoma Hansa left at 12:21 and is destined to Tracy. Algonorth moved to the dock at Imperial Oil at 07:54.

Hamilton, ON – Joshua Hebeisen
Saltie Edenborg was an early-morning arrival on Wednesday, arriving via the Burlington Canal at 02:37 for the inner harbor anchorage. Algoma Transport was inbound at 17:41 with slag for Lafarge, and fleetmate Algoma Conveyor made port at 22:14 to tie up at ArcelorMittal Dofasco. The latter joined Algoma Strongfield (unloading ore) and Harvest Spirit (discharging petroleum coke) at the dock. Federal Kumano is at Federal Marine Terminals 12 East with sugar and Federal Hunter is discharging UAN at Agrico, while Bogdan is still taking on grain at P&H. Shoveler, MTM Singapore, and Ruby-T are all waiting for dock space at anchor.

Seaway – René Beauchamp
After four days of waiting at the Port of Montreal, the Gwen was able to leave for Ogdensburg, NY to deliver its cargo of wind turbine components Wednesday at 18:15. This cargo was taken in Pohang, South Korea.
