Marquette, MI – Oggdo Bogdo
The veteran Lee A. Tregurtha sailed in at 15:26, and departed at 23:05. She has been a very common visitor this season. Arriving in the coming days will be the Clyde S. VanEnkevort/Erie Trader, Victory/Maumee, and for what seems to be the first time since 2018, the steamer Wilfred Sykes.

Port Inland, MI – Andrew Meyer
Sam Laud is arriving as I write this- about 1930 Saturday evening. She’s the only traffic for the day and looks like the only traffic for the remainder of the weekend.

Southern Lake Michigan Ports – Andrew Meyer
Calumet Harbor, IL: Caroline McKee is moving upriver as of this writing, 1930 Saturday.
Indiana Harbor, IN: The Sam Laud departed for Port Inland at 1001 Friday morning, and Wilfred Sykes rolled out of town on shuttle duty an hour later. A rare arrival for the Burns Harbor occurred at high noon on Saturday. The Burns typically runs between Superior BN-5 and Burns Harbor, but is coming from Duluth’s CN 6 this time around.
Gary, IN: The Edgar B. Speer arrived with her weekly haul at 1150 on Friday. The Speer subsequently departed at 0230 on Saturday. The AAAs are both due on Sunday morning.
Burns Harbor, IN: Federal Kivalina arrived early Friday morning, and Stewart J. Cort ended her weekly run with a departure at 1904 Friday evening. 

Grand Haven, MI – Oggdo Bogdo
The timeless Wilfred Sykes departed at 04:29 after unloading at Verplank. She will head to Marquette next, an extremely unusual destination for her.

Muskegon, MI – Oggdo Bogdo
Joyce L. VanEnkevort/Great Lakes Trader arrived at 11:15, a very rare occurrence and one that hasn’t happened in at least 5+ years. The duo came from Meldrum Bay with a load of limestone, which was unloaded at Cobb Verplank. They would depart around 11:30 for Duluth/Superior. Arriving in the next day will be the not quite as rare, but always welcome, Kaye E. Barker.

Goderich, ON – Bruce Douglas
Rodopi (Saltie Bulgaria) cleared 07.57 Saturday downbound for Montreal with grain. Radcliffe R Latimer expected next for salt.

Calcite, MI – Andrew Meyer
The Great Republic made her departure at 0245 Friday, destined for the twin ports. The Republic’s departure would leave Calcite empty until mid afternoon, which saw the H. Lee White and Kaye E. Barker arrive. The Barker departed early Saturday morning, the White is still in port.

Lake Erie Ports – Bill Kloss
Monroe, MI: Departing was Undaunted/Pere Marquette 41 departed for Port Colborne, ON and Leonard M/Huron Spirit, heading to Sault Ste. Marie.
Toledo, OH: Saturday departures were Manitowoc to Manistee and Victory/Maumee to Marquette. Spruceglen is at Andersons. Still in Port are Federal Nagara and Wilf Seymour/Alouette Spirit.
Sandusky, OH: The classic Cuyahoga arrived at 16:11 to load at the Norfolk Southern coal dock.
Cleveland, OH: Departures were Calumet to Detroit, Petite Forte/St. Marys Cement to Bowmanville, ON and Federal St. Laurent to Burns Harbor, IN. Finnborg arrived at 11:03 and went to dock 24W at the Port. Peyton Lynn C is at dock 22E.
Buffalo, NY: After delivering to CSI Sands, Defiance/Ashtabula left for Stoneport.
Nanticoke, OH: CSL Tadoussac arrived at 05:40 with ore for Stelco. Once empty, she departed at 16:02. Other departures were Algonorth for Tracy, PQ and Algoterra for Montreal, PQ, both with petroleum products. Algonova and the tug Albert with her the tank barge Margaret moved to Imperial Oil while Algosea and Algoma Hansa remain at anchor. 

Buffalo, NY – Brian Wroblewski
The CSL NIAGARA arrived for Lackawanna from Ohio to load a partial coal cargo at the Gateway Metroport Main Dock around 10PM on Thanksgiving night. She came in the South Entrance, winded in the Outer Harbor, and backed in for the bulk loading apron. Two portable conveyors were used to fill up her holds with coal previously delivered to Lackawanna by train on the B&P railroad. Payloaders transferred big scoops from the pile on the dock to the ship after it was trucked over from the West side of the slip where the rotary dumper is. The next day was calm and comfortable as they took on more product after having previously loaded some in Sandusky.

The 26th was a busy day as the Fall Rush finally got going a little later than normal. First off was the tug-barge combo NEW YORK – DS509A with a load of asphalt from Detroit for Tonawanda. They came in the North Entrance at 3:15AM and turned down the Outer Harbor. At a spot just off the Bell Slip, the barge’s anchors were dropped and they spent a few hours there on the hooks waiting for the Black Rock Lock to open. Right around that same time, the CSL NIAGARA wrapped up loading operations at Gateway Metroport and departed Lackawanna for Hamilton, soon to be replaced in the slip just a few hours later. DEFIANCE – ASHTABULA came back with another load of sand from Brevort for CSI at 6:30AM on the 26th. They came right in the South Entrance for the Gateway Metroport West Pier and began unloading a partial cargo there first before shifting to CSI later.
