Duluth-Superior – Scott Bjorklund
Duluth Entry: No traffic has taken place on the Duluth side since the last report, and no vessels were in port Thursday evening. John G. Munson is expected Thursday night to unload limestone at CN-Hallett #5; they are expected to load iron ore pellets at CN#6 on departure.
Superior Entry: Algoma Discovery departed at 01:16 (CST) Thursday morning with a partial cargo of blast furnace trim and iron ore pellets for Hamilton. American Integrity arrived at 02:31 to load iron ore pellets at BNSF. Hon. James L. Oberstar arrived at 06:45 to take a delay at Lakehead Pipeline. American Integrity departed at 16:45 with iron ore pellets for Conneaut. CSL Laurentien arrived at 17:06 to load iron ore pellets at BNSF. Finally, Hon. James L. Oberstar departed at 18:19 empty to load in Silver Bay. As of Thursday night, CSL Laurentien was loading at BNSF; they are estimated to depart Friday late-morning with iron ore pellets. Atlantic Huron is expected early afternoon to load iron ore pellets at BNSF.
Two Harbors- Silver Bay – Gary A. Putney
Burns Harbor departed Two Harbors on 10/14 at 16:17. No new AIS, but a good guess would be Burns Harbor. The Oakglen arrived off Two Harbors at 17:05 and she has circled off Two Harbors twice and is working on her third. Don’t know if she is waiting on Heritage Marine’s tug Nels J. Due Two Harbors on 10/15 is the CSL Tadoussac. There is no traffic due Northshore Mining in Silver Bay on 10/15.
Goderich, ON – Bruce Douglas
Algoma Intrepid cleared 6.34 am Thursday downbound for Conneaut with salt. Algoma Niagara arrived 7.26 am Thursday, loading at Compass Minerals.
Lake Erie Ports for Thursday – Bill Kloss
Monroe: American Century departed for Duluth at 01:41. New York/DS509A left for Detroit at 03:40. Paul R. Tregurtha arrived at 04:36. unloaded at DTE and left for Superior at 14:57.
Kingsville: Robert S. Pierson arrived at 03:20, unloaded at Southwestern Sales and departed for Marblehead at 09:53.
Marblehead: Calumet loaded stone and sailed for Marine City. Robert S. Pierson arrived at 13:57.
Sandusky: CSL Niagara arrived at 04:56 to load coal at Norfolk Southern.
Cleveland: Cuyahoga departed at 00:50 for Meldrum Bay. Walter J. McCarthy, Jr. left for Duluth at 02:14. Laura L. VanEnkevort/Joseph H. Thompson arrived at 05:31 with stone for Cliffs. She departed for Meldrum Bay.
Nanticoke: Edwin H. Gott arrived at 04:19 to unload at Stelco. She departed for Two Harbors at 18:00.
