Two Harbors, MN – Gary Putney
September 3
As of Sunday night, American Spirit was upbound in Whitefish Bay for Two Harbors. Great Republic was heading for Two Harbors to load pellets. Victory/Maumee was heading for Algoma-Soo after loading in Two Harbors.
September 4
Great Republic departed Two Harbors at 09:04 for the Gary Works. The Indiana Harbor departed Two Harbors at approximately 18:30. Algoma Guardian was at Two Harbors. American Spirit stopped off Duluth for Two Harbors.
Silver Bay, MN – Gary Putney
September 3
Burns Harbor arrived Silver Bay at 00:22 to load pellets. Joyce L. VanEnkevort/Great Lakes Trader was heading for Toledo after loading in Silver Bay.
September 4
Burns Harbor departed Silver Bay at 11:35. Dirk S. VanEnkevort/Michigan Trader was up in Whitefish Bay for Silver Bay.
Marquette, MI – Noah H.
After a brief lull at the Marquette ore docks, Lee A. Tregurtha came in at 15:16 to break the ice. Her visit would not take long, perhaps due to a fully charged ore dock. The LAT was already outbound by 22:30, destined for Detroit. Early on Tuesday morning, Hon. James L. Oberstar is due to load next, followed by the Victory/Maumee some time later.
Marquette, MI – Arthur Pickering
The Lee A. Tregurtha arrived at the ore dock on Monday afternoon, and the Maumee was scheduled to arrive Monday evening. Early on Tuesday, the Hon. James Oberstar is scheduled to arrive. Joseph L. Block is due in on Thursday morning.
Grand Haven, MI – Ferrysburg, MI – Noah H.
Caroline McKee/Commander arrived at 13:42 for the St. Marys Cement dock. The McKee tugs have made a handful of visits this season, of both the Bradshaw and Caroline variety. Calumet is due up next on Tuesday.
Muskegon, MI – Noah H.
Algoma Intrepid arrived early on Monday morning, entering the piers around 03:35 with salt from Goderich. That cargo was unloaded into a pile at the salt dock south of Cobb Verplank. Before the Intrepid’s exit, Samuel de Champlain/Innovation arrived with a cement load at 06:45, bound for the Holcim dock. This is evidently a partial unload, with the previous chunk being deposited in Milwaukee directly across the lake. The tug/barge duo remained in place through the rest of Monday, while the Intrepid departed for Meldrum Bay at 11:56. Cruise vessel Le Dumont-d’Urville is due Tuesday morning.
Goderich, ON – Bruce Douglas
Algoma Compass cleared 08:05 Saturday upbound for Chicago with salt. Algoma Intrepid cleared 07.26 Saturday upbound for Muskegon with salt.

American Mariner unloaded at DTE and then left for Calcite. Harvest Spirit is unloading.

Arrivals were Clyde S. VanEnkevort/Erie Trader with 35,000 tons of Tilden pellets for the Bulk Terminal, Algoma Buffalo to load salt at Cargill, and Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder with stone for RiverDock. Departing was Petite Forte/St. Marys Cement for Bath, ON, and Sharon MI/Huron Spirit to Windsor. Sea Eagle II/St. Marys Cement II and New York/Double Skin 509A were both unloading.
September 4
Clyde S. Vankevort/Erie Trader departed to Marblehead once empty at the Bulk Terminal. Sea Eagle II/St. Marys Cement II left for Bowmanville, Sam Laud arrived to unload at the Cliffs stone dock, and Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder unloaded stone and left for Marblehead. Algoma Buffalo departed with salt for Toronto. New York/Double Skin 509A is at Marathon unloading liquid asphalt.

Buffalo, NY – Lackawanna, NY – Tonawanda, NY – Brian Wroblewski
Everybody’s hometown favorite laker, the Algoma Buffalo, arrived with salt for Gateway Metroport at 13:00 on August 2. She came in the South Entrance, turned to port with her thrusters, and came to a stop off the CRH Cement terminal. Once they got lined up, the Buffalo backed into the Lackawanna Canal for the bulk unloading apron at the northern end. She was there until 20:30 when the ship dropped lines and departed light for Cleveland, OH, under a beautiful late summer twilight sky.

Departing were CSL Niagara for Duluth-Superior and Algosea for Sarnia. Edwin H. Gott arrived with ore for Stelco. Also at Stelco is Algoma Sault.
